To protect your home, the cylinder in your door (that's the part you put your key in) needs to withstand 5 types of attack:
Most Kitemarked cylinders will protect against some of these attacks, but as criminals adopt new ways of attacking your cylinder, new ways to protect your door are required.
To effectively protect your door, dhf advises that the lock cylinder and door handles on your entrance doors should meet the highest standard, and protect against all these latest forms of attack. So your lock cylinder should be uprated to the TS 007 Kitemark standard.
Secured by Design (the Association of Chief Police Officers' crime prevention initiative) has worked with dhf and the Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) to develop the TS 007 standard.
To ensure the security on your door effectively protects your home, you need one of the following solutions:
These cylinders have several layers of built in protection as standard and have undergone rigorous testing before being approved to TS 007. PLEASE NOTE: the cylinder must feature the TS 007 Kitemark together with three stars.
Warringtonfire tests to TS007:2014+A1:2015 and products covered include replaceable cylinders intended for use with rim locks and/or mortice locks, including Euro profile cylinders, oval cylinders and threaded cylinders, cylinder specific devices, escutcheons, cylinder guards, security handles and associated security hardware.
Warrington Certification’s STS 217

MLA's (Master Locksmiths Association) Sold Secure Diamond Standard
Cylinders that meet the MLA's Sold Secure Diamond (SS312) standard will also achieve this level of protection and are Secured by Design (police) approved.
If you are unsure about what is fitted to your door, contact a member of the Master Locksmith Association (MLA) and ask them to check for you.
