dhf offers support for consumers by offering a dispute resolution. In the unlikely event that communication breaks down between the member and the consumer, dhf will try to help resolve the problem. All dhf member companies, as a condition of dhf membership, agree to co-operate in this dispute resolution process by providing any information in its possession which may reasonably be requested by dhf.
Choose your garage door, accessory, or installation from a dhf member and you will benefit from a warranty and a dhf-backed aftercare service to give you complete peace of mind. Under the scheme, all products, accessories, and installations come with a two-year warranty. Any products seen to have manufacturing defects will be repaired or replaced by the installer, who may include the manufacturer in the process of reaching complete customer satisfaction.
In the very unlikely event that a dhf member ceases trading, dhf will attempt to resolve any outstanding issues relating to the installation.
dhf works closely with Trading Standards Officers throughout the UK to try to eliminate non-compliant or faulty garage door installations. dhf also works closely with other organisations who try to stamp out non-compliancy, such as the BBC’s Rogue Traders consumer Watchdog programme.
If you know of a non-compliant installation or think that your garage door is not compliant, or have a safety issue with your garage door, either talk to dhf or report your concerns to the Citizens Advice Consumer Service Helpline on:
