Over the years dhf has evolved from its beginnings in 1897 as a trade association representing the locks and building hardware industry, to representing six major industries. Because of this, each industry has its own dedicated group.

The dhf Industrial Door Group represents suppliers of all types of industrial doors, shutters and grilles as well as manufacturers and trade suppliers of drive units and control equipment.

Our aims are to:

• Make specifiers aware of the commercial advantage they will derive by choosing dhf member products over non-member products (e.g. technical excellence, legal compliance, safety).
•  Inform specifiers and members of current best practice in design, manufacture and installation of its products.
• Advise specifiers and dhf members on legislation, such as CE marking, so ensuring all products supplied by dhf members are fully compliant.
• Promote a quality system such as ISO 9001:2015 and encourage product certification.
